Brüggen is a charming municipality in the Lower Rhine region (North Rhine-Westphalia), located directly on the German-Dutch border, about 15 km south of Venlo (NL) and 20 km northwest of Mönchengladbach. The town lies along the River Schwalm, surrounded by flat green countryside, meadows, fields, and forests – typical of the Lower Rhine landscape.
Brüggen is particularly well known for its medieval moated castle, its historic town center, and its proximity to extensive nature parks.
